CSA Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce that Dr. Shannon Dierking has joined its team as a consulting swine nutritionist.

Dr. Dierking will provide nutrition services and technical support to CSA’s swine clients. She will collaborate with customers to achieve production goals and improve their economic outcome. CSA Animal Nutrition’s President Charles Shininger expressed his excitement about Dr. Dierking’s education, skills, and next-generation perspective, stating that she is an excellent addition to our nutrition team. CSA is committed to investing in and building a talented team with nutritionists who possess the knowledge and skills to deliver value to clients.

She grew up on her family’s mixed farm in Nebraska (crops and farrow-to-finish swine) and has gained a variety of agricultural experiences throughout her life. Prior to college, she played an active role in the daily farm operations, assisting with everything from piglet processing and movement to feed mixing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and master’s degree in swine nutrition from the University of Kentucky. While completing her PhD at South Dakota State University, she collaborated with industry companies such as PIC and continued to gain knowledge of swine production. Her PhD dissertation research focused on swine reproductive physiology and gilt development nutrition.
