Water Medication
Aurora Pharmaceutical has introduced ORAL-PRO Sodium Salicylate 48.6% and ORAL-PRO Sodium Salicylate 60% with 5.7% caffeine. Both products are labeled for use in drinking water of poultry and swine as an aid in reducing pain, fever and inflammation. Sodium salicylate, unlike liquid aspirin, is highly dissolvable in water, with one gram dissolving in slightly less than 1 ml of water. Also unlike liquid aspirin, sodium salicylate administered orally through a water-medication system is absorbed and reaches measurable plasma concentrations. And unlike aspirin, it does not interfere with normal blood clotting and wound healing. For more information, visit www.aurorapharmaceutical.com.

Pfizer Pork Residue-Free Guarantee
The Pfizer Pork Residue-Free Guarantee offers an innovative solution to the issue of violative meat residues. When EXCEDE (ceftiofur crystalline free acid) Sterile Suspension, EXCENEL RTU (ceftiofur hydrochloride) Sterile Suspension or NAXCEL (ceftiofur sodium) Sterile Powder are used according to label directions, pork producers can now be assured that they won’t face a meat residue violation. “These products have proven their value by helping pork producers improve the health of their herds,” says Michael Senn, DVM, technical services manager at Pfizer Animal Health. “Through the Residue-Free Guarantee, that value now extends beyond the farm, through the food chain to the end consumer who expects to eat quality pork products.” The Residue-Free Guarantee ensures adherence to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service screening for violative antibiotic residues. The program works by Pfizer Animal Health agreeing to compensate producers for the pork market value of the animal if a company-branded ceftiofur product is used according to label indications and results in a violative meat residue. EXCEDE for Swine has a 14-day preslaughter withdrawal; EXCENEL RTU and NAXCEL both have a four-day preslaughter withdrawal. More information on this program can be found at www.PfizerPork.com/AvoidResidues.

Arc Welder
Thermal Arc’s Fabricator 252i inverter from Thermadyne Industries, Inc. offers flexibility for a broad range of arc welding applications on steel, aluminum and other alloys. The welder provides these other features: 66 lb. in weight for portability; smooth operation off generator power; 5- to 300-amp output range for thin to ½-in.-thick steel; operator-friendly features to improve welding performance; and pricing about the same as competitive MIG-only units at $2,509. Unlike other welders, the Fabricator 252i allows users to select the best process for the application at hand. Its MIG and gas-shielded flux cored outputs provide maximum productivity in the shop. The stick and self-shielded flux cored processes work better in windy and outdoor conditions, as well as on rusty or dirty metal, while the DC TIG process enables users to weld stainless steel, copper, nickel, bronze or brass alloys or on applications requiring precise control over heat input and weld bead placement. Bin Level Sensor
Binmaster Level Controls introduces a newly designed weight and cable, “bob” style SmartBob TS-1 continuous level sensor with a sealed electronics compartment to meet the challenges of dusty environments. This continuous level measurement and inventory monitoring sensor prevents the introduction of dust into the electronics cavity of the sensor to protect critical components and enhance durability. The sensor is suitable for feedmills, grain bins or silos and can also be used in a variety of liquid and slurry applications. The SmartBob-TS1 allows for measuring and monitoring bins from a personal computer or a control console. For more information, visit www.binmaster.com.
