Ninety-six-year-old Willard Waldo and Waldo Farms have been inducted into the Nebraska Business Hall of Fame.

Willard built Waldo Farms into the world’s largest purebred seedstock supplier.

Willard was also recognized for his lifelong support of the Nebraska State Fair. He has attended every year since his birth in 1912, until the fair’s last run in Lincoln last year.

Waldo Farms was among the first in keeping performance records, weighing pigs at birth, monitoring age at market weight, measuring backfat and testing for quality.

Waldo Farms was also the first Nebraska herd to use artificial insemination, says Willard’s son Max.

Max now travels to 30 different countries selling seedstock for Waldo Farms.
