Three leaders of the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) were named to governmental advisory committees recently.

NPPC Past President Jon Caspers of Iowa was appointed to the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee for Trade (APAC) by Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Rob Portman. APAC is a private sector body providing advice on U.S. agricultural trade policy to the secretary of agriculture and the USTR.

Nick Giordano, NPPC international trade counsel, was appointed to the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy Negotiations.

NPPC Past President John Hardin of Indiana was reappointed to the secretary of agriculture’s Technical Advisory Committee on Trade in Animals and Animal Products.
