More than 700 swine veterinarians, researchers and producers are expected to attend the Allen D. Leman Swine Conference Sept. 17-20 at RiverCentre, St. Paul, MN.
Four keynote speakers include:
- Don Butler, director of government relations and public affairs at Murphy-Brown, LLC, Warsaw, NC;
- John Deen, DVM, director of the Swine Center at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine;
- Joe Connor, DVM, president of Carthage Veterinary Service, Carthage, IL; and
- Marguerite Pappaioanou, DVM, an epidemiologist with the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and School of Public Health.
Session topics range from biosecurity and emerging diseases to feeding and housing and finance and production.
A poster session highlights new research findings.
A two-day trade show includes more than 40 swine-related commercial exhibitors.
Darwin Reicks, DVM, Swine Vet Center, St. Peter, MN, will be presented the 2005 Allen D. Leman Science in Practice award.
