The state of Minnesota has been granted Stage IV status in the pseudorabies (PRV) eradication program, according to Paul Anderson, DVM, Minnesota Board of Animal Health.
Stage IV is surveillance status. Minnesota has not had any PRV-infected herds since March 2001.
All states except Iowa have now achieved Stage IV or V (free) status. Iowa reports no infected herds and is set to advance to Stage IV before the end of 2002.
