The National Swine Improvement Federation (NSIF) recognized National Hog Farmer Editor Dale Miller with its Charles Stanislaw Distinguished Service Award during their annual meeting held recently in Des Moines, IA.

Miller was lauded for his extensive reporting of swine performance testing and genetic improvement programs throughout his 30-year career.

NSIF is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading body in the development and application of scientifically based programs for the genetic improvement of swine.

Douglas Newcom, Iowa State University, received the NSIF Graduate Student Award.

Ken Stalder, Iowa State University, was elected NSIF president; Harold Hodson, Swine Genetics International, was named vice president; new secretary-treasurer is Steve Moeller, Ohio State University.
