Alpharma Animal Health and the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation (on behalf of Elanco Animal Health) have renewed their financial support for the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) Student Seminar and Veterinary Student Scholarships, according to the AASV Foundation. Combined support totals $40,000 for 2011.
Alpharma Animal Health has supported the Student Seminar for 10 years. Sponsorship for the seminar, held during the AASV annual meeting, expanded to include the Student Poster Session, which began in 2007. Company support in the amount of $20,000 per year provides travel stipends and $5,000 scholarship for the best overall student oral presentation.
The Eli Lilly and Company Foundation has funded swine veterinary student scholarships for 12 years and recently renewed their funding commitment for three years at $20,000 per year. The funds are used to award 14 scholarships each year, from $500 to $2,500, to veterinary students who participate in the student seminar at the AASV annual meeting.
Abstracts for the Student Seminar at the AASV annual meeting are now being accepted. For more information, go to http://www.aasv.org.
