The University of Missouri Extension Commercial Agriculture Program’s 2009 Swine Institute is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia, MO.

This year’s theme is “Looking for a Rainbow,” a follow up to last year’s theme, “Weathering the Storm.”

The program covers economic issues affecting the state’s swine industry and provides management advice to help producers survive these challenging times.

Presenters include University of Missouri Extension Economist Ron Plain and the Commercial Agriculture Program swine focus team and Melvin Brees of the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute. Teng Lim of Purdue University will provide a report on the Environmental Protection Agency’s national air monitoring program.

The Swine Institute begins with a noon luncheon featuring University of Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden and concludes at 5 p.m.
