The Nebraska Pork Industry Day is set for Feb. 26, 2009 at the Cornhusker Marriott (866-706-7706) in Lincoln, NE.

The trade show opens at 10 a.m. A team of scientists will present University of Nebraska research needs at 11 a.m.

At noon is the buffet lunch, followed at 12:30 p.m. by the keynote address by National Pork Producers Council CEO Neil Dierks on “Overview of the Pork Industry Including Trade, Consumer Confidence and Current Legal and Regulatory Atmosphere.”

Session one seminar at 1:30 p.m. features Don Fedie, Agri Control Company, “Why Managing Risk is So Important.” Darrell Mark, University of Nebraska livestock marketing specialist, covers “Hog and Pork Market Situation and Price Outlook.”

Session two seminar at 3 p.m. features Mark repeating his outlook presentation. Mike Brumm of Brumm Swine Consultancy, discusses “Everything I Learned Since Last Year.”

Session three at 4:30 p.m. includes Brumm’s presentation followed by Fedie’s.

The Taste of Elegance Banquet is set for 6 p.m., followed by the Nebraska Pork Industry Awards Ceremony at 8 p.m.
