The Iowa Manure Management Action Group (IMMAG) says crops may be harvested early in some parts of Iowa due to dry conditions. IMMAG is telling producers and manure applicators to make some time now to organize activities related to manure application that may also happen earlier than normal due to dry conditions.Suggestions for producers and manure applicators include:
o Make sure manure applicator certification license is current.
o Make sure soil samples are up to date to meet manure plan requirements.
o Take manure samples to determine nutrient analyses.
o Identify fields that may be at higher risk for application due to dry conditions and prioritize fields for manure application, saving at- risk fields for later application dates if needed.
