Minnesota Veterinarian Honored

Minnesota swine veterinarian Darwin Reicks has been presented the 2005 Allen Leman Science in Practice Award for achievements in swine disease management and research.

The annual award, sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health, was presented to Reicks during the Leman Swine Conference Sept. 19. The award is named after the late Al Leman, a veterinarian who pioneered development of new swine production and disease management technologies for the pork industry.

Reicks has worked for more than a decade at the St. Peter (MN) Swine Vet Center, helping clients with production, health consulting and management services. He specializes in boar stud management and consults routinely with more than 10 studs.
