Roger Main, DVM, has become the director of operations of the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
Main previously served as director of Production Systems for Murphy-Brown Western Operations.
He replaces Lorraine Hoffman, DVM, who has retired after serving as director of operations since 2006. She previously was bacteriology section leader in the lab for 32 years.
Main is a veteran researcher in swine health, nutrition and production management and has influenced health assurance decisions in production systems worldwide.
In 2008, Main was given the Allen Leman Science in Practice Award for contributions to swine health and production. Main earned his DVM from Iowa State University and a PhD from Kansas State University.
