The American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) have selected Harry Snelson, DVM, as their first director of communications. Snelson will manage the AASV’s committees, liaison activities and their weekly e-newsletter.
Snelson previously worked as the director of science and technology for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC).
“The AASV created the position to elevate our commitment to enhancing the value of AASV membership through our key areas of communication, advocacy and member involvement through committees,” explains Tom Burkgren, DVM, executive director of the AASV.
Snelson also was employed as a swine technical services manager at Schering-Plough Animal Health. From 1991 to 2000, he was the swine veterinarian at Carroll’s Foods, Inc. in North Carolina.
