Missouri Swine Institute Addresses Challenges

The 2007 Swine Institute Nov. 6-7 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia, MO, will tackle challenges to the Missouri swine industry.

Examined will be the challenges presented by circovirus and the solutions offered by vaccines.

The impact of ethanol on both swine producers and consumers will be addressed. A tool will be presented to help evaluate the effectiveness of distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) in swine diets.

Options and challenges to potential reduction in use of sow gestation stalls will be discussed.
