Financial Management Workshops Slated

A series of workshops to help producers manage risk and make better financial decisions is slated for February and March, sponsored by University of Illinois (U of I) Extension.

“These FAST (Farm Analysis Solution Tools) training workshops offer two, one-day sessions: Risk Management (Day 1) and Financial Management (Day 2),” says Paul Ellinger, U of I Extension farm financial management specialist. “You can attend one day or both.”

Exploring Risk Management and Marketing Strategies using FAST focuses on tools to help producers make crop insurance, grain marketing and grain management decisions.

Improving Your Financial Management using FAST demonstrates how certain tools can be used to prepare and evaluate farm financial statements, conduct cash flow planning, and assess grain storage, real estate and machinery investments.

Learn more by contacting Ellinger at (217) 333-5503 or Gary Schnitkey at (217) 244-9595.

The workshops are scheduled for:
Feb. 14-15, Crown Plaza in Springfield;
Feb. 21-22, Holiday Inn in Urbana;
Feb. 28-March 1, Hickory Grove Banquet and Conference Center in Rochelle; and
March 7-8, Holiday Inn in Mount Vernon.
