Craig Christensen of Ogden, IA, was elected president of the 15-member National Pork Board at the board’s recent summer meeting. Dave Culbertson of Geneseo, IL, was named vice president.

Three members were added to the board earlier this summer: Dennis Michael of Yankton, SD; Diane Bettin of Truman, MN, and Wayne Peugh of Edelstein, IL.

Board member Mark Reding of Howardstown, KY, was reappointed to a three-year term, as were Christensen and Culbertson.

The pork board will meet in coming months to plan programs that will be funded by the pork checkoff. The group will meet in November to approve the 2004 budget, which must also be approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
