Information on the proposed master matrix to help county officials site new livestock confinement facilities will be presented in an Iowa Communications Network program 7-9 p.m., Nov. 6. The program will be broadcast to nearly 30 sites throughout Iowa.

Iowa State University (ISU) agricultural economist John Lawrence and Eagle Grove, IA, pork producer John Korslund, DVM, will discuss the Livestock/Environment Matrix and help producers examine potential impacts on siting and new construction.

Also, ISU Extension economist Mike Duffy will discuss availability of assistance from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

Cost is $10 per person. Deadline for pre-registering for the origination site at 1483 Veterinary Medicine on the ISU campus is Nov. 5. Contact your county Extension office for possible pre-registration and fees.
