The American Meat Institute (AMI) Foundation’s Animal Care and Handling Conference for the Food Industry is Feb. 18-19 at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, Kansas City, MO.

The conference features a half-day general session and a full day of species tracks covering cattle, pig and egg production and processing, and a unique review of scientific research.

Pig Track instructors include John McGlone, Texas Tech University; Floyd McKeith, University of Illinois; and David Fraser, University of British Columbia.

On Feb. 17, just preceding the conference, will be the inaugural International Meat Animal Welfare Research Conference.

It will update research about cattle and hog production, transport and processing practices.
