Minnesota Pork Congress Scheduled for Jan. 18-19
Minnesota Pork Congress is slated for Jan. 18-19, 2012 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 18 and from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 19.
Admission is $10/person if preregistered by Jan. 3 and $15/person at the door. The trade show will feature 140 companies exhibiting equipment and services geared toward hog producers.
Seminar topics will cover barn ventilation, energy savings in nurseries, state legislative preview, manure pit foaming, pork exports, alternative feeds, market outlook, daily hog chore routine and swine disease analysis.
Custom manure applicator, Pork Quality Assurance-Plus and Trucker Quality Assurance certification training will also be offered.
Minnesota Pork Industry Award recipients and outgoing Minnesota Pork Board and Minnesota Pork Producers Association executive board members will be recognized at the Minnesota Pork Board Awards Reception on Jan. 17 at the Minneapolis Hilton.
This year’s honorees at the award ceremony are Environmental Steward,Laura and Wayne Dahl of Dawson; Pork Promoter of the Year, Mike Murphy of Fairmont; Swine Manager of the Year, Mark Uilk, Pipestone System; Family of the Year, Charles and Wanda Patsche of Welcome; and Distinguished Service, Rep. Rod Hamilton of Mountain Lake.
