President Obama's Speech after Signing Free Trade Agreements

Last Friday, the FTAs with Korea, Colombia and Panama were signed into law by President Obama at a ceremony hosted at the White House. NPPC was among a small group of industries invited to attend this ceremony and was represented by NPPC president Doug Wolf.

As evidence of pork producers’ leadership on the FTAs, pork producers were the first group mentioned in the president’s speech highlighting those industries that would see significant benefits from implementation of the FTAs.

When fully implemented, the trio of FTAs will be worth more than $11.00 per pig and generate 10,200 U.S. pork industry jobs.
