To prevent or respond to threats to the U.S. food supply, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Pork Board have issued the following tips:

Report any unusual situation to your veterinarian or state or federal animal health official.

Stay alert and aware of suspicious activities near food or agricultural operations and report any such activities to authorities.

Update emergency telephone numbers.

Consider inspecting all vehicles entering your farm and escorting all visitors.

Boost surveillance around your farm and restrict public events such as tours and lectures.
