Illinois Pork Producers Association Fall Roundtable Meetings
The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) will host fall roundtable meetings during the month of November in each of the 12 IPPA districts throughout Illinois to provide pork producers with an update on activities at the state and national levels and to gather input from producers on current industry issues. The meetings will be held with an informal, open format seeking grassroots feedback.
"The roundtables are great opportunities for pork producers to get first-hand updates from their staff about how their investment is being spent and what the plans are for the future," says Jim Kaitschuk, IPPA executive director. "In addition, policy issues certainly impact the daily lives of everyone, including farmers. So we certainly hope that people will take time from their schedules to provide the direction we need to help get through these challenges successfully."
Pork producers will be invited to submit resolutions for state and national issues and programs as part of the IPPA policy development process. IPPA members will debate and determine IPPA direction, as well as elect annual meeting delegates and new IPPA district directors. The meetings also provide a free meal and chance to socialize with fellow pork producers.
“We urge all those involved in the pork industry to attend these meetings and share your ideas, views and thoughts on current issues of importance to pork producers,” said Kaitschuk.
RSVP’s are requested. Please contact your district IPPA director to RSVP.
