USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS) estimates that 802 million people around the world do not have enough food to eat on a regular basis.  That’s down from 814 million people in 2011, but it still represents one in four people.  According to ERS’s annual food security report, over the next 10 years, food insecurity will increase by 37 million people.
