Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. has introduced 3FLEX combination package, the first three-way combination approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a single shot for pigs three weeks of age or older to protect against porcine circovirus, Mycoplasma pneumonia and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS).
By mixing and administering Ingelvac CircoFLEX 1, Ingelvac MycoFLEX 2 and Ingelvac PRRS MLV 3 in one, 2-ml. shot, herds can be protected against three of the most critical diseases in the porcine respiratory disease complex. One shot administration reduces stress on pigs and people and reduces labor costs.
Independent and double-blinded trials confirm the efficacy of the 3FLEX vaccine mixture against single and multiple infections by challenging vaccinated pigs with single agent pathogens and all three pathogens simultaneously.
Field studies conducted in three geographic locations provided conclusive evidence. The 3FLEX vaccine mixture administered as a single, 2-ml. shot to 672 pigs at approximately three weeks of age was proven safe, and no systemic or local (injection site) reactions were observed.
