The 53rd annual conference includes a summary of data and experiences on biosecurity in filtered barns to reduce the risk of airborne PRRS virus infections by Scott Dee, DVM, Pipestone (MN) Veterinary Clinic. Derald Holtkamp, DVM, Iowa State University, will assess PRRS control vs. elimination options. Steve Pohl, South Dakota State University, will discuss new technology in filtered barns. Steve Malakowsky, Agri-Star Financial, Mankato, MN will explain financing for filtered barns. Getting pigs started correctly in a production setting will be presented by Mike Eisenmenger, DVM, Swine Vet Center, St. Peter, MN. Eric Burrough, DVM, Iowa State University, will discuss diarrhea syndromes of pigs. Ron Borderson, DVM, University of Nebraska, will cover farm techniques and test interpretation of oral fluid testing in pigs.
