Two, 2-day programs, sponsored by Iowa State University's Beginning Farmer Center and Iowa State University Extension, are being offered for families involved in a multiple generation farm business. The 13th Annual Ag Link conference program is being offered on Jan. 15-16 and Feb. 12-13, 2010 in Ames, IA.
Issues to be discussed at the conference include:
- How to address major issues that can lead to failure in a multiple generation farm business.
- Find out whether an existing operation is profitable enough to support another generation.
- Learn the basics of estate planning.
- Uncover alternatives for transfer of farm assets.
- Develope a farm family business succession plan.

The cost for a family of up to four attendees is $200. Additional family registration is offered for $40 for each additional attendee above four. Meals, breaks and a resource packet are included in the registration fee. Registration deadline is Jan. 6, 2010.
