Kansas Swine Day Pegged for Nov. 19

Kansas Swine Day and Technology Trade Show at Kansas State University’s (KSU) Alumni Center is scheduled for Nov. 19, 2009.

Major presentations include:

--Current KSU research to help improve the net return of a swine business featuring practical application of the latest production research and breakthroughs;

--Impact of the H1N1 virus on the global swine industry coordinated by Steve Henry, DVM, Abilene (KS) Animal Hospital. Panelists include Ingrid Garrison, state public health veterinarian for the Kansas Department of Health and Richard Hesse, DVM, director of diagnostic virology at KSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine; and

--Impact of current economic signals on the future of the swine industry by Kent Bang, Bank of the West, Omaha, NE.

An ice cream reception follows the presentations.
