Iowa Offers Commercial Applicator Training

Iowa State University (ISU) Extension, in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), will host a statewide commercial manure applicator training workshop on Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. A list of Iowa County Extension offices hosting this training can be found at: www.agronext.iastate.edu/2010macreshow.pdf. Those interested in attending are asked to contact the training location so adequate certification materials and handout materials are available.

Commercial manure applicator businesses are encouraged to take advantage of the workshop in order to get new or existing employees trained prior to the busy fall manure application season.

Those who are unable to attend the workshop can contact their county Extension office to make an appointment to watch the video/DVD training or contact the local DNR field office to schedule an appointment to take the certification exam. More information about the manure applicator certification program can be found at: www.agronext.iastate.edu/.
