Iowa Workshops Planned for Medium-Sized CAFOs

Iowa State University Extension is hosting four workshops for livestock farms that may be considered medium-size concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). These workshops are designed to provide valuable information for livestock farmers to help answer questions producers may have about meeting compliance requirements.

Registration for the workshops is $30 for the first person from each livestock farm and $15 for each additional person from the same farm. Pre-registration is required, but payment can be made at the door. Workshops begin at 10 a.m. and end by 3 p.m.

  • June 27: Room 115 at the NICC Dairy Center, Calmar. Contact the Winneshiek County Extension office at 563-382-2949 to register.

  • June 28: Country Junction Restaurant, Dyersville. Contact the Dubuque County Extension Office at 563-583-6496 to register.

  • June 29: Buzzy’s Restaurant, Welton. Contact the Clinton County Extension office at 563-659-5125 to register.

  • June 30: Moose Lodge in Charles City. Contact the Floyd County Extension office at 641-228-1453 to register.

The Coalition to Support Iowa's Farmers (CSIF) is a sponsor of the events and will be present at each to share information about the no-cost services and resources CSIF provides.
