The Ohio Manure Science Review will be held on Aug. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hord Livestock Farms, Bucyrus, OH. The day’s agenda includes an overview of the Hord’s approach to managing odors and manure nutrients, a presentation about nutrient variations in stored manure, and the benefits of using the “4Rs” approach – the right nutrient sources at the right rate, time and place – among others.
Field demonstrations will give attendees a glimpse at mortality composting, cover crops, optical nitrogen detection and solid manure spreader calibration. Several applicator demonstrations are also planned.
