Quality Control Coordinator:   Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining bio-security quality standards, policies, and processes. Responsible for performing routine bio-security inspections, and assessments of but not limited to livestock trailers, finishing barns, and all functions of raising livestock.

Ideal candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Animal Science Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Able to travel using cost effective and timely commercial and private modes of transportation.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Agribusiness experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills-verbal, writing, and tech ability.

Swine Farms Manager, Iowa State University

The Department of Animal Science seeks full time swine farms manager responsible for leading and managing daily operations of three swine farms. 

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or closely related field and 3 years of experience to include supervising personnel, swine farm and farm budget management, or related master’s degree and one year of related experience may be substituted.  Excellent communication skills.  Valid driver’s license.  Preferred:  Master’s degree in Animal Science or closely related field and experience in a research oriented program of study, managing research trials, previous teaching and animal judging experience.  This is a continuous, 12 month, full time appointment, with November start date possible.  For further information and to apply for this position, please go to http://www.iastatejobs.com.

General Manager: This position will have complete accountability for all swine production related activities in our North Carolina – (10,000 Sows in Production, Associated Isolation – Gilt Development – Staging) location.

Ideal candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Three to five years of swine management experience preferred.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expected to take an active role in companies all ready established bio-security and safety programs.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • This individual will be responsible for focusing efforts on the reduction of costs and increasing throughput.
  • Responsible for developing yearly production output budgets, expenses budget and necessary capital spending budget.
  • Be able to influence change through educating and training at all levels in addition to frequent farm inspections.

M2P2, LLC Position Opening

M2P2, LLC has openings for the following positions at our Heritage Farms East location in Turpin, Oklahoma. Heritage Farms East is a farrow to wean swine operation located in the Oklahoma Panhandle.

Farm Manager: This position would be a fulltime Farm Manager position. Previous experience in hog farm operations and management is required. Must be able to speak, read, and write English and Spanish. Must have valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance. Please inquire about relocation opportunities.

Hawkeye Sow Centers, H7(3400 sows), near Leland, Iowa has an opening for Breeding Manager. Responsibilities include: reporting to/coordinating with Unit Manager, scheduling/prioritizing and assisting with daily and weekly tasks/care of animals, supervising and training 2-3 employees in all areas of breeding/gestation. Farmer John, Sow Farm Manager, Snowflake, Arizona

A position responsible for the management of a 2750 Sow Farm operation. This candidate must be capable of performing all duties within all areas of the farm in order to assist in training and development of farm staff.

Qualified candidate: Have a BS in Animal Science or related discipline; Minimum 2-3 years experience in swine production; Experience in Artificial Insemination techniques; Good written and oral communication skills; Excellent animal husbandry skills; Team player; Excellent computer skills including MS Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities include: All tasks pertaining to the operation of a farrowing to wean facility including breeding, gestation and farrowing; Coordination of animal movement and shipments; Adhering and promoting Safety first in all areas; Training and development of staff; Other assignments as required.
