USDA Approves First PEDV Vaccine

USDA’s Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has approved a conditional license for a vaccine to help control porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV).  The vaccine produced by Harrisvaccines Inc. now can be sold to U.S. veterinarians and swine producers.  This is the first PEDV vaccine approved by USDA since the initial outbreak. USDA grants conditional licenses to meet an emergency or unmet need.
