Russia has announced it will suspend pig imports from the U.S. because of concerns with the continuing outbreaks of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV).  Russia said, “This disease is spreading over more and more territory of various countries including the United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan” and it wants to prevent the disease form being brought into Russia.  According to USDA, the top export markets for U.S. live pigs are China, Mexico, and Russia.
