On nearly a party line vote, the House of Representatives passed the proposed $3.5 trillion Republican budget.  The budget would cut approximately $181 billion over 10 years from farm bill programs including: $15.5 billion from commodity programs, $15.5 billion from crop insurance, $16 billion from conservation and $134 billion from nutrition programs.  This compares to the Senate Agriculture Committee plans to cut $23 billion from farm bill programs over 10 years.  The Senate will not accept the House-passed budget.
