The House Agriculture Committee announced a series of farm bill field hearings that will allow committee members to hear, first hand, how the current farm bill is working and what issues and recommendations need to be considered when writing the 2012 farm bill.  Congressman Frank Lucas (R-OK), chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, in announcing the hearings, said, “Field hearings represent one of the best parts of writing the farm bill because it gives us a chance to see the countryside and visit with folks who are directly impacted by our policy decisions in Washington.”  The four hearings schedule is:

  • March 9 – North Country Community College, Saranac Lake, NY
  • March 23 – Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg, IL
  • March 20 – Arkansas State University, State University, AR
  • April 20 – Magouirk Conference Center, Dodge City, KS
