Farm Bill

 

The Senate was not able to complete action on the farm bill last week as nearly 200 amendments were filed.  There are a number of amendments still pertaining to crop insurance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), rural development, renewable fuels, labeling of genetically engineered crops, etc.  The Senate plans to finish the farm bill when it returns to Washington on June 3 after the Memorial Day recess.  The House of Representatives is expected to consider the farm bill in mid-June.
