The European Union (EU) will begin accepting U.S. exports of live swine on Feb. 25. Also, the EU will accept beef (meat) washed with lactic acid. These two export restrictions by the EU have been contentious issues between the EU and the United States. The United States has contended that these restrictions were unscientific trade barriers. New trade talks between the two countries are scheduled for the end of February.
