With the election one week away, there are a number of close races facing members of the Senate and House agriculture committees. All eyes are on the Senate race in Kansas where Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS) is in a tough race against Independent Greg Orman. If the Republicans take control of the Senate, Roberts would become chairman of the Senate agriculture committee. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is being challenged by Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Grimes (D). McConnell will become Senate Majority Leader if the Republicans regain the Senate. House agriculture committee members facing tight races are Rick Nolan (D-MN), Bill Enyart (D-IL), Annie Kuster (D-NH).
