Al Almanza has been appointed to serve as USDA's new Deputy Under Secretary for Food Safety. Almanza most recently served as Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Administrator, leading 9,500 FSIS employees and overseeing the regulation of meat, poultry and processed egg products inspection.
