Cavanaugh & Associates, P.A., a consulting engineering firm headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC, announced that it is part of a team that received the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina’s (ACEC/NC) 2013 Grand Conceptor Engineering Excellence Award, at the recent Engineering Excellence Awards Gala. The award was presented to William G. Simmons, Jr., V.P. and Director of Engineering, Steve Cavanaugh, President and CEO, and Marvin Cavanaugh, V.P., and Tatjana Vujic (Duke University) for its North Carolina Pig Farm Renewable Energy System.
ACEC/NC annually recognizes the year’s most outstanding engineering accomplishments by awarding projects that demonstrate the highest degree of achievement, value, and integrity. The award was presented to Cavanaugh for work on the Loyd Ray Farm Project, which is the first hog farm in North Carolina to generate Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) from swine manure.
