FDA public meeting on data collection regarding on-farm antimicrobial drug use

The Food and Drug Administration, the USDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be holding a joint public meeting to obtain input on possible approaches for collecting additional on-farm antimicrobial drug use and resistance data. The agencies are seeking the data to better assess the impact of measures being implemented to foster the judicious use of medically important antimicrobial drugs in food-producing animals.

The meeting will be held 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the USDA Jefferson Auditorium (South Building), 1400 Independence Avenue SW., Washington, DC. Registration is required to provide oral comments by sending information, including name, title, organization, address, telephone and fax numbers, by email to [email protected] by Sept. 18. Electronic and written comments may also be submitted by Nov. 30.
