Animal Ag Alliance Appoints New Communications Coordinator

August 31, 2009 - The Animal Agriculture Alliance has appointed Sarah Hubbart as Communications Coordinator. In her new role, she will design and implement all aspects of the Alliance's communications strategy. Hubbart hopes to strengthen the Alliance's relationship with the media and will work to expand the organization's online presence in order to educate a wider audience about the importance of animal agriculture.

"I am thrilled to welcome Sarah into her new role with the Alliance," said Executive Vice President Kay Johnson Smith. "She brings positive energy and a new vision to our communications initiatives, as well as expertise in online social networking venues, such as Facebook and Twitter. I have no doubt Sarah will strengthen the Alliance's communications footprint with more emphasis on positive public outreach."

Hubbart was born and raised in a rural community in northern California and has a deep respect for the work of America's farmers and ranchers. Before joining the Alliance in June 2009, she reported on agricultural stories for the Chico News & Review, a regional news magazine. Hubbart was a semi-finalist in the California Farm Bureau Discussion Meet and has been an active proponent for agriculture since a young age.

She received a full scholarship to California State University, Chico, where she earned her bachelor's degree in agricultural communications while representing the college as an Ag Ambassador.
